Its a bit chilly out here in the Finnish Lapland!!
Frozen everything !!

‘There might be wolves out there, where we are going.. but dont worry,  I just shot one last week. Here look…. If his pack comes back for me, I know exactly where they will be ..I will be waiting..’ , said Arri Matti

our tour guide told this showing off the photos of  the dead wolf on his phone, just as we were putting on the gear for the days , snow mobile ride which lay ahead of us.

Yes, we were scared.. but it was nice in a way..  !!

It all started with a train journey starting from Helsinki to the northern town of Rovaniemi, in the Finnish Lapland, famous for its resident who is much loved by kids. Our 3 day stay was packed with fun, with one full day being spent at the Santa Village , right on the Arctic circle and another day on a Snowmobile journey of nearly 120 KM  over the frozen Kemijoki River.

To make things even more cool, we were traveling in January, quite possibly the coldest month of the year. Dressed fully in the Arctic gear, we looked forward to spending many hours outside, without getting any frost bites.

The train left Helsinki Railway station at 7.20 in the evening and we were set to reach Rovaneimi the next day morning after almost 12 hours of travel. The journey was very comfortable in a double-Decker train ,  with a cabin to accommodate 2 people quite comfortably.

Here are the trip in photos of what we did and what we saw there (January 2011)
